अगर गांव का कमाया हुआ पैसा वहीं रहे और शहर का पैसा भी गांव में आए तो देश के ग्रामीण इलाकों का विकास होगा, यह बात गुजरात के राज्यपाल और गुजरात विद्यापीठ के कुलाधिपति आचार्य देवव्रत ने ‘गांधी’ लॉन्च करते हुए कही। बुधवार को महात्मा गांधी की 155वीं जयंती पर एक ओरिएंटेशन सत्र के माध्यम से ग्रामजीवन पदयात्रा। इस अवसर पर गुजरात विद्यापीठ में कई कार्यक्रम आयोजित किये गये।
पदयात्रा के हिस्से के रूप में, विद्यापीठ के शैक्षणिक और गैर-शैक्षणिक कर्मचारियों के साथ लगभग 1,800 छात्र 21 से 26 अक्टूबर तक गुजरात के 18,000 गांवों में मार्च निकालेंगे और किसानों और अन्य ग्रामीणों को प्राकृतिक खेती के लिए प्रेरित और प्रशिक्षित करेंगे।
“गांधीजी प्राकृतिक जीवन जीते थे। प्रकृति मनुष्य की सभी जरूरतों को पूरा कर सकती है, लेकिन उसके लालच को नहीं। मनुष्य ने अपने लालच को पूरा करने के लिए प्रकृति का दोहन किया है, जिसका परिणाम ग्लोबल वार्मिंग है। देवव्रत ने कहा, प्राकृतिक खेती प्रकृति के संसाधनों के संरक्षण का एक अभियान है, राष्ट्र के कल्याण का एक अभियान है।

Gujarat’s Governor and Vice-Chancellor of Gujarat Vidyapeeth, Acharya Devvrat, emphasized that if the money earned in villages stays there and city funds also flow into rural areas, there will be significant development in the country’s rural regions. This statement was made during the launch of the ‘Gandhi’ initiative on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s 155th birth anniversary, which included an orientation session focused on the village life march. Various programs were organized at Gujarat Vidyapeeth to commemorate this event.
As part of the march, about 1,800 students, along with academic and non-academic staff of the university, will march through 18,000 villages in Gujarat from October 21 to 26. Their goal is to motivate and train farmers and other villagers in natural farming practices.
Devvrat remarked, “Gandhiji lived a natural life. Nature can fulfill all human needs but not human greed. To satisfy their greed, humans have exploited nature, resulting in global warming. Natural farming aims to conserve nature’s resources and is a campaign for the welfare of the nation.”
He added, “If you encourage your parents and farmers to adopt natural farming, you won’t face flooding because all the water will seep into the ground. Pure food will also lead to better health. Natural farming solves many problems,” quoting Gandhi’s belief that the path to India’s development lies in its villages.
Additionally, an electric golf cart was flagged off on this occasion. “Students have assembled this vehicle as part of their skill training,” said Harshad Patel, the Vice-Chancellor of Gujarat Vidyapeeth. Three more battery-operated golf carts will be assembled and operational soon.
A permanent exhibition showcasing 26 honors and accolades received by Mahatma Gandhi from around the world has also been set up in the Pranjivan Vidyarthi Bhawan on the university campus. Moreover, the Governor inaugurated the Jamnalal Bajaj Art Gallery on campus, which will allow artists from outside the university to exhibit their work.
