AgriLeaf, a manufacturer and exporter of biodegradable dinnerware, has raised ₹16 crore in a growth funding round led by Capital-A and SummerS Capital.
While addressing the media in Mangalore on Wednesday, AgriLeaf’s co-founder, Avinash Rao, stated that this investment will enable the company to expand its operations in existing markets in the U.S. and Europe, as well as establish a consumer-facing brand in India. This marks AgriLeaf’s first fundraising effort following a period of bootstrapping and profitability.
Several angel investors also participated in this funding round, including Shaji Devakar, Siddharth Bafna (co-founder of The Nutcracker), Ved Prakash’s family office, Preeti Jain of Bling Mushrooms, Sumit Bhalotia, director of Verio Lounge, Dhruv Taneja, founder of Matchlog, and Chirant Patil from Beta Plus.

AgriLeaf produces biodegradable dinnerware made from betel leaves, sourcing the leaves from Shivamogga and South Kanara districts in Karnataka.
The company plans to have 10 betel leaf collection centers in Shivamogga, South Kanara, and Udupi districts by the end of this financial year, utilizing a network of farmer producer organizations (FPOs) in these areas for this purpose.
Co-founder Atishay Jain noted that India exports approximately ₹30-35 crore worth of biodegradable dinnerware made from betel leaves every month, and this investment will help the company expand its export markets.
