That means today farmers have the last chance to sell their crops at MSP. Madhya Pradesh government has appealed to the farmers to get themselves registered immediately and the method for doing so has also been explained.
Madhya Pradesh government has announced the purchase of farmers’ Kharif crops at the minimum support price for the year 2024-25. More than 1400 purchase centers have been created across the state to purchase crops from farmers. According to the state government, the purchase price of farmers’ produce is being transferred to their bank accounts within 48 hours. It has been made mandatory for paddy, millet and jowar farmers to register for crop sale. The registration window is open from 19th September. Farmers can complete this registration process both online and offline.
Online and offline method of registration, fees and documents
- Today, October 14, 2024, is the last day for paddy, millet and jowar farmers to register for crop sale. As per the instructions of the state government, farmers can register for free on Gram Panchayat, District Panchayat, Cooperative Society, MP Kisan App for crop sale.
- Farmers can also register for crop sale through MP Online Kiosk, Community Service Centre, Cyber Cafe, but here they will have to pay a fee of Rs 50.
- According to the state government, registration for Sikmi, Bataidar, Kotwar and forest lease holder farmers will be done only at the centers of cooperative society and marketing cooperative institution.
- To register for crop sale on MSP, farmers will have to provide land related documents, Aadhar card and photo identity card as well as bank passbook or bank account details.
- To get crop payment, it is necessary for the farmers’ Aadhaar number to be linked to their bank account and mobile number. It can be updated biometrically at the Aadhaar Enrollment Centre.
What is the MSP rate of jowar, millet and paddy?
The central government has fixed the minimum support price (MSP) for farmers including jowar, millet and paddy and other crops for the 2024-25 crop year. Due to this, farmers are getting the right price for their costs.
- The MSP for common variety of paddy is fixed at Rs 2300 per quintal. Whereas, for Grade-A paddy, farmers will get a price of Rs 2320 per quintal.
