Heffield Primary School, located in the Blue Mountain area of St. Thomas, has received much-needed support thanks to a donation from the Jamaica Agricultural Commodities Regulatory Authority (JACRA). During a handover ceremony on Tuesday, November 20, the school principal, Mrs. Ushela Ramokan Stephens, shared several challenges that the school is facing.
“As a small multi-grade school, we often struggle with a lack of teaching and learning materials. We need a lot more resources. Because we have multiple grades in one classroom, it can be difficult to tailor the learning process for each student,” Mrs. Stephens explained.
She added that the donation from JACRA will allow the school to purchase more teaching materials, and she is grateful for this support.
“Receiving these gifts is truly a blessing for us, especially the new printer. We faced many challenges with our old printer, which slowed down our printing activities, exams, administrative tasks, and more. Therefore, we are really happy about this donation,” she said.
The donations to Heffield Primary School are part of JACRA’s broader efforts to support and revitalize farming communities.
