किसान शिकायत या समाधान के लिए कॉल करेंगे

Government procurement of paddy has started in Madhya Pradesh from December 2. Farmers have reached the state’s purchasing centers and many mandis including Balaghat with tractors loaded with paddy. Whereas, in some areas only a few farmers had reached the purchasing centers to sell their crops. The state government had announced the purchase of produce from farmers at the Minimum Support Price i.e. MSP, for which registration of farmers was started from the month of September itself. Payment for paddy purchase will be made directly to the farmers’ accounts within 24 hours.
Target to purchase 45 lakh tonnes of paddy
Madhya Pradesh government had announced the dates for paddy procurement in August, under which government procurement of paddy has been started in the state from the fixed date 2 December 2024. The state government has set a target of purchasing 45 lakh tonnes of paddy from farmers. Farmers can sell their paddy till January 20, 2024.
Procurement started 5 days a week at 1412 centers
Madhya Pradesh government has created more than 1412 procurement centers across the state for paddy procurement. At these centres, farmers will be able to sell their paddy crop at the purchasing centers throughout the week from Monday to Friday. Farmers arrived in Balaghat of the state on Monday with tractors loaded with paddy. Here 185 tonnes of paddy was purchased on the first day. However, the number of farmers was seen less in many procurement centres.
Crops are being purchased from farmers at MSP
The minimum support price for paddy has been announced by the central and state governments. The state government has fixed the minimum support price of paddy common at Rs 2300 per quintal and the MSP of paddy grade-A at Rs 2320 per quintal. The same price is being given to the farmers of the state for selling paddy. After purchasing paddy at support price, payment will be made to the bank account linked to Aadhaar number during farmer registration.
Instructions to stop illegal sale of paddy
Quality testing of paddy at the warehouse level will be done by the quality surveyor of the procurement agency before stacking. If the paddy purchased by the transporter and procurement agency is not transported within the time limit, penalty will be arranged on a weekly basis. Instructions have been given to the collectors to take appropriate action to stop illegal sale of produce brought to the procurement centers from neighboring states during the paddy procurement period.
Farmers will call and get complaint or solution
To solve the technical problems faced by farmers in registration and buying and selling, technical cells have been formed in the district and also at the state level. The district level committee will finalize all disputes related to procurement and monitor the quality of the purchased paddy. A control room has also been created at the state level to help the farmers, here the helpline number 𝟎𝟕𝟓𝟓-𝟐𝟓𝟓𝟏𝟒𝟕𝟏 can be called for complaint or solution from 𝟗 in the morning to 𝟕 at night.
