Manila, Philippines – According to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on Saturday, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is exploring future agricultural collaboration with Chile.
Marcos stated that cocoa is becoming an important crop in the Philippines, and the government is focusing on its cultivation and processing.
“As it is becoming a very important crop – gradually becoming significant – we are trying to promote it. And I believe that when it comes to that product, you have the best technologies,” Marcos said during a courtesy meeting with Chilean Prime Minister Alberto van Klaveren on Friday at Malacañang.

Secretary of Trade and Industry Ma. Christina O. Frasco also mentioned that the government is monitoring fish and mineral exports from Mindanao and referred to a deep-sea port opened in Peru for the export of Asian products to South America.
