The Northern Regional Agricultural Director, Hajia Hawa Musah, who confirmed the incident to DGN Online, stated that these items were intended for women farmers affected by drought in the region.
“These items were brought for women farmers impacted by the drought, and we had to wait due to the elections to distribute them because the farmers are significantly affected and we fear hunger,” she said.
She appealed to the Northern Regional Police Command for security to protect the warehouse to prevent further looting.
In the meantime, the police have indicated that the arrested suspects will be investigated and prosecuted.
