A payment of Rs 5419 crore has been made as MSP to the farmers selling paddy and millet for the central pool i.e. buffer stock.

So far 3,90,404 metric tonnes of millet has been purchased. However, this year the Haryana government was given a target to purchase only 3.83 lakh metric tonnes of millet. Under the National Food Security Act, 2013, a target was given to purchase 1.52 lakh metric tonnes of millet for the Central Pool and 2.31 lakh metric tonnes of millet for the Public Distribution System in the State Pool.
How many farmers got the benefit?
