Congress accused of discrimination in fertilizer sale
Amid claims by the BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh government of adequate availability of fertiliser, the Congress criticized the BJP for distributing DAP to farmers only in by-election areas in the state. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh shared a media report, which claimed that farmers in Madhya Pradesh are standing in queues throughout the night for DAP. Farmers of two assembly seats Budhni (Sehore district) and Vijaypur (Sheopur district) are being given fertilizers in advance, because by-elections are being held here. The Congress leader said in the post that selling fertilizer only at those places in Madhya Pradesh where by-elections are being held is a betrayal of the farmers of the rest of the state. He alleged that the requirement of fertilizer is equal everywhere, but other areas are not getting even 5 percent of the required DAP.
