14 नवंबर 2024, रायपुर: रायपुर- राष्ट्रीय जैविक तनाव प्रबंधन संस्थान ने पशु स्वास्थ्य शिविर का आयोजन किया – “मेरा गाँव मेरा गौरव” (MGMG) पहल के अंतर्गत, ICAR-राष्ट्रीय जैविक तनाव प्रबंधन संस्थान, बारोंडा, रायपुर ने छत्तीसगढ़ के पशु विकास विभाग के सहयोग से 12 नवंबर 2024 को तिल्दा ब्लॉक के केवटारा गाँव में एक दिवसीय “पौधा और पशु स्वास्थ्य शिविर” का आयोजन किया।

14 November 2024, Raipur: Raipur- National Institute of Biological Stress Management organized animal health camp – As part of “Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav” (MGMG) initiative, ICAR-National Institute of Biological Stress Management, Baronda, Raipur in collaboration with Animal Development Department of Chhattisgarh organized a one day “Plant and Animal Health Camp” “Organized on 12 November 2024 in Kevatara village of Tilda block of Chhattisgarh.
Dr. P.K. Ghosh, Director and Vice Chancellor, ICAR-National Institute of Biological Stress Management, was the chief guest and presided over the function. Dr. Daisy Basandrai, Joint Director and Coordinator (Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav) participated. Other notable attendees included Dr. Ramswaroop Verma, veterinarian; Dr. Sridhar J., (Nodal Officer-Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav); Dr. Lalit Kharbikar, Senior Scientist; Dr. Soumya Dash, Scientist; Dr. Sandeep Adavi., Scientist; Sarpanch of the village Shri. Rajni Verma; And Secretary Shri Milan Sahu.
A series of lectures on plant and animal health have been delivered by expert scientists for the benefit of farmers, Dr. Ramswaroop Verma stressed on the importance of vaccination of animals, especially against diseases like Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD). Also discussed the important role of hygiene in preventing infections like mastitis. Dr. Soumya Dash highlighted the benefits of including mineral mixture in the diet of animals and said that it increases bone strength, boosts milk production and ultimately increases the income of farmers.
Dr. Lalit Kharbikar informed the farmers about common diseases of Rabi crop and provided effective management strategies, while Dr. Sridhar J. Discussed pest control measures for Rabi crops. Dr. Daisy Basandrai underlined the importance of choosing suitable crop varieties for high productivity and recommended suitable varieties for gram, pigeon pea and lentil.
In the chief guest address, Dr. P.K. Ghosh encouraged farmers to use fallow land for cultivation of crops like mustard, lentils and pigeon pea. He also suggested growing fodder crops like Napier grass to meet the nutritional needs of livestock.
