A section of farm activists and paddy growers accused district agriculture officials of not taking adequate steps to create awareness among farmers over the years.
Crop ruined due to less rain
Khed worker Shantaram Sarvade said that farmers are aware only about traditional disease control measures. They adopt those methods due to financial constraints, but it does not save their crops. In the end, they get less crop. There is a need to create awareness among tehsil or block level agriculture officers and give them better options to control diseases. This year we will not get a good yield due to infection. Due to less rainfall, paddy production has not been good for the last two years.
