ओडिशा अब पश्चिम बंगाल समेत दूसरे राज्यों पर आलू के लिए निर्भरता कम करेगा। इसके लिए ओडिशा की बीजेपी सरकार ने ‘राज्य आलू मिशन’ को फिर से शुरू करने का फैसला किया है ताकि राज्य में आलू की खेती और उत्पादन बढ़ सके। इस मिशन के जरिए सरकार को उम्मीद है कि ओडिशा आलू उत्पादन में आत्मनिर्भर बनेगा। हालांकि, पूर्व बीजेडी सरकार ने एक दशक पहले ‘राज्य आलू मिशन’ की शुरुआत की थी, लेकिन इस मिशन के तहत आलू उगाने वाले किसानों को लागत के मुकाबले सहायता राशि नहीं मिली। इसके अलावा, राज्य में ठंडे संग्रहण की सुविधाओं की कमी के कारण किसान आलू की खेती से दूर होते गए, जिससे राज्य आलू उत्पादन में पीछे रह गया।

द न्यू इंडियन एक्सप्रेस की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, राज्य सरकार ने ओडिशा स्टेट सीड कॉर्पोरेशन (OSSC) को 1.87 लाख क्विंटल प्रमाणित आलू के बीज खरीदने के लिए निर्देश दिया है। कॉर्पोरेशन ने पहले ही पंजाब और उत्तर प्रदेश के जाने-माने व्यापारियों से 1.77 लाख क्विंटल बीज की आपूर्ति के लिए आदेश दे दिए हैं। बागवानी निदेशक निखिल पवन कल्याण ने व्यापारियों द्वारा आपूर्ति किए गए बीजों की गुणवत्ता की जांच के लिए दोनों राज्यों का भी दौरा किया।

14,423 हेक्टेयर में आलू की खेती होगी

खाद्य आपूर्ति और उपभोक्ता कल्याण मंत्री कृष्ण चंद्र पटरा ने गुरुवार को कहा कि 1.77 लाख क्विंटल आलू के बीजों को राज्य के जिलों में पहुंचा दिया गया है और इसकी आपूर्ति 14 अक्टूबर से शुरू होगी। सरकार इस रबी सीजन में 14,423 हेक्टेयर में आलू की खेती करने की योजना बना रही है और सभी उप-डिवीजनों में ठंडे संग्रहण की सुविधा बनने के बाद और भी क्षेत्र कवर किए जाएंगे। उन्होंने कहा कि 58 उप-डिवीजनों में ठंडे संग्रहण बनाने के लिए कदम उठाए जा रहे हैं।

मिशन की शुरुआत 2014 में हुई थी

मंत्री ने कहा कि बीजेडी सरकार ने आलू मिशन शुरू किया था लेकिन इसे सही तरीके से लागू नहीं किया गया। यह मिशन 2014-15 में शुरू हुआ था। इस उद्देश्य के लिए गठित टास्क फोर्स ने किसानों को आलू की खेती के लिए क्लस्टर क्षेत्रों में प्रोत्साहन देने की सिफारिश की थी, जिसमें 2014-15 में 5,000 हेक्टेयर से बढ़ाकर 2017-18 में 20,000 हेक्टेयर करने का प्रस्ताव था। लेकिन यह मिशन सफल नहीं हुआ, क्योंकि ठंडे संग्रहण की सुविधाओं की कमी के कारण किसान आलू का वाणिज्यिक उत्पादन करने के लिए हिचकिचाते थे।

ई-केवाईसी सत्यापन में 15 और दिन लगेंगे

पटरा ने केंद्र सरकार के 2028 तक फोर्टिफाइड चावल मुफ्त प्रदान करने के फैसले की सराहना की और कहा कि राज्य सरकार राष्ट्रीय खाद्य सुरक्षा अधिनियम के तहत कवर नहीं होने वाले योग्य लोगों को मुफ्त चावल उपलब्ध कराएगी। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रवाहित राशन कार्डों का ई-केवाईसी सत्यापन करने में 10 से 15 और दिन लगेंगे।

According to a report in The New Indian Express, the state government has directed Odisha State Seed Corporation (OSSC) to purchase 1.87 lakh quintals of certified potato seeds. The corporation has already placed orders for the supply of 1.77 lakh quintals of seeds to renowned traders of Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. Horticulture Director Nikhil Pawan Kalyan also visited both the states to check the quality of the seeds supplied by the traders, who have been selected through the tender process.

Potato will be cultivated in 14,423 hectares

Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Minister Krishna Chandra Patra said on Thursday that 1.77 lakh quintals of potato seeds have been delivered to the districts of the state and the supply will start from October 14. The government plans to cultivate potatoes in an area of ​​14,423 hectares in the Rabi season and more areas will be covered in phases after construction of cold storages in all sub-divisions. He said that steps are being taken to fulfill the commitment of building 58 cold storages in the same number of sub-divisions.

The mission was started in the year 2014

The minister said the BJD government had started the potato mission but failed to implement it properly. This mission was started in 2014-15. A task force constituted for this purpose had recommended providing incentives to farmers for potato cultivation in cluster areas, which was proposed to be increased from 5,000 hectares in 2014-15 to 20,000 hectares in 2017-18. This mission was not successful because farmers were reluctant to produce potatoes commercially due to lack of cold storage facilities.

E-KYC verification will take 15 more days

Patra also lauded the Centre’s decision to provide free supply of fortified rice till 2028 and said rice will be provided free of cost by the state government to eligible people not covered under the National Food Security Act. He said that e-KYC verification of the ration cards in circulation will take 10 to 15 more days.
