किसानों ने पंजाब में धान की खरीद न होने के खिलाफ फिर से विरोध शुरू कर दिया है। इस बीच, भारतीय किसान यूनियन के मुख्य प्रवक्ता राजेवाल और डोबा के प्रभारी जत्थेदार कश्मीर सिंह जंडियाला ने आज सोमवार को जलंधर-लुधियाना-दिल्ली हाईवे को блок कर दिया। किसानों द्वारा हाईवे ब्लॉक करने के कारण लंबा जाम लग गया है। किसान नेता ने बताया कि बलबीर सिंह राजेवाल यूनियन की ओर से जलंधर के डिप्टी कमिश्नर हिमांशु अग्रवाल को तीन दिन पहले एक मांग पत्र दिया गया था। इसमें बाजारों में धान की खरीद न हो पाने और किसानों को DAP खाद नहीं मिलने की जानकारी दी गई थी।

SKM का कहना है कि पिछले साल के कुल भंडार में से 130 लाख मीट्रिक टन चावल अभी भी पंजाब में भरा हुआ है, जिसे FCI के जरिए उठाना है। पंजाब के गोधाम पूरी तरह भरे हुए हैं और चावल मिलर इस साल के उत्पादन को नहीं उठा पा रहे हैं क्योंकि उनके पास भंडारण के लिए जगह नहीं है। इसी कारण किसानों का उत्पादन समय पर नहीं उठाया जा रहा है। इससे न केवल किसानों को, बल्कि कमीशन एजेंटों औरLaborers को भी समस्याओं का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। बिचौलिए और मजदूर भी इस स्थिति के खिलाफ हड़ताल पर चले गए हैं। मजदूरों ने शिकायत की है कि यदि धान समय पर नहीं उठाया गया, तो उनका काम ठप हो जाएगा और उनकी आजीविका खतरे में पड़ जाएगी।

Meanwhile, the chief spokesperson of Bharatiya Kisan Union Rajewal and Doaba in-charge Jathedar Kashmir Singh Jandiala blocked the Jalandhar-Ludhiana-Delhi highway today i.e. on Monday. There has been a long traffic jam due to farmers blocking the highway. Giving information about the matter, the farmer leader said that on behalf of Balbir Singh Rajewal Union, a demand letter was given to Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Aggarwal 3 days ago. In this, information was given regarding non-lifting of paddy in the markets and farmers not getting DAP fertilizer.
Farmer leader Rajewal said that due to the government not fulfilling their demands, the farmers were forced to block the National Highway (Jalandhar-Ludhiana Road) on October 21. Farmers are being forced to stage a protest on this highway. Jathedar Jandiala also said that a demand has been made to conduct a vigilance inquiry of the Agriculture Officer regarding the DAP fertilizer issue. He said that due to non-availability of DAP fertilizer, many farmers of Doaba region are suffering losses. Let us tell you that earlier the farmers had made the toll free by staging a protest at the toll plaza. There was a demonstration outside the houses of Aam Aadmi Party and Bharatiya Janata Party leaders.
