Its objective is to increase the fertility of soil, development of micro-organisms as well as increase the yield. This will reduce the costs of farmers and will also open the way for increasing their income. Seed company Syngenta India has tied up with Karnal-based ICAR-CSSRI and Haryana Agricultural University to help the farmers.
Syngenta India, a seed and pesticide manufacturing company, has stepped forward to help farmers adopt sustainable farming methods along with keeping the land fertile and doing eco-friendly farming. The company has joined hands with Karnal-based Central Soil Salinity Research Institute (ICAR-CSSRI) of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research and Hisar-based Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCS HAU). The company will help in increasing crop production with the help of research and new technology in collaboration with both the institutions.
In a statement issued by Syngenta India, it was said that in collaboration with Karnal-based ICAR-CSSRI, the focus will be on promoting sustainable agricultural methods and improving soil health and resilience in brackish water and clayey areas. Whereas, in collaboration with Haryana Agricultural University, work will be done to promote diverse sustainable farming methods to improve the yield.
Syngenta said that innovation is being done to effectively face the challenges of the changing world, from climate change, loss of biodiversity to the demands of farmers. We believe in taking everyone together to make agriculture in India a model of sustainability and prosperity for farmers.
