Mangal Pandey said that to promote certified wheat seeds in the state, availability of base seeds at 80 percent subsidy to the farmers has been ensured through Bihar State Seed Corporation. Bihar State Seed Corporation will purchase 100 percent seeds from farmers growing certified wheat seeds at a price 25 to 30 percent more than the Minimum Support Price (MSP). He said that 8,750 quintals of wheat foundation seed is being procured from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research and agricultural universities in the state and 6,000 quintals of wheat foundation seed is already being procured under various schemes.
Bihar will be self-reliant in seed production
