आलू या अन्य सब्जियों की खेती बढ़ने के साथ, कोल्ड स्टोरेज की मांग भी बढ़ेगी। इसको ध्यान में रखते हुए बिहार सरकार नए कोल्ड स्टोरेज बनवाने का काम तेज कर रही है। कृषि मंत्री के अनुसार, अभी राज्य में कुल 202 कोल्ड स्टोरेज काम कर रहे हैं, जिनकी कुल भंडारण क्षमता लगभग 12 लाख 30 हजार मीट्रिक टन है। राज्य के 12 जिलों में किसानों को कोल्ड स्टोरेज की सुविधा नहीं मिल रही है। इसको ध्यान में रखते हुए आलू (प्रकार-1) और फलों व सब्जियों (प्रकार-2) के लिए नए कोल्ड स्टोरेज के निर्माण पर 50 प्रतिशत सब्सिडी दी जा रही है। इसके अतिरिक्त फलों और सब्जियों को रखने के लिए 10 मीट्रिक टन के सौर कूल चैंबर बनाने पर भी 50 प्रतिशत सब्सिडी दी जा रही है।

This breeder seed has Kufri variety of potatoes which gives higher yield to the farmers and is also in higher demand. To increase seed production in Bihar, the state government has demanded breeder seeds, which has been approved.
Subsidy for cold storage
With increase in cultivation of potatoes or other vegetables, the demand for cold storage will also increase. In view of this, Bihar government is going to speed up the work of building new cold storage. According to the Agriculture Minister, at present a total of 202 cold storages are working in the state, whose total storage capacity is about 12 lakh 30 thousand metric tons. There are 12 districts in the state where farmers do not get the facility of cold storage. In view of this, 50 percent subsidy is being given on construction of new cold storages of Type-1 (for storing potatoes) and Type-2 (for storing fruits and vegetables) in 12 districts.
