Haryana government has made a big claim amidst the huge crisis of DAP, a chemical fertilizer which is very important for wheat cultivation. Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana said that between November 1 and 10 this year, the total consumption of DAP in the state was 53,164 metric tons, whereas in the same period last year, this consumption was only 32,441 metric tons. On the questions raised by Congress regarding its availability, he claimed that sufficient quantity of DAP is available for the farmers and there is no obstruction in its supply. Rana said that currently 23,748 metric tonnes of DAP is in stock in the state and additional 9,519 metric tonnes is likely to arrive by November 15.
The Agriculture Minister held a meeting with officials in this regard. He instructed them to provide DAP to all the farmers and not to let even a single acre of land in the state remain unsown due to its shortage. He said that the stock of DAP in Haryana is in line with the demand and matches the level of consumption of last year. A total of 2,29,086 metric tonnes of DAP was used in the last Rabi season.
