The Niger state government has secured an investment of over N1.094 trillion from Chinese companies for the Special Agricultural Processing Zone (SAPZ). This initiative aims to boost agricultural productivity and establish the state as a hub for agricultural processing.
Commerce and Investment Commissioner Aminu Suleiman Takuma announced this development right after the groundbreaking and signing ceremony at the government building in Minna.
He stated that inspired by Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago’s vision, the state is on its way to becoming a significant player in Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
Takuma mentioned, “We have taken a significant step towards transforming the agricultural sector through our partnership with Chinese investors. We secured a $684 million (N1.094 trillion) investment from the China Overseas Engineering Group (COVEC) and China Railway Engineering Corporation (CREC) for the SAPZ.”
