पंजाब के मुख्य सचिव जाहिद अख्तर जमां ने शुक्रवार को सिविल सचिवालय में गेहूं की खेती के लक्ष्यों की समीक्षा के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण बैठक की अध्यक्षता की। कृषि सचिव, आयुक्त, उपायुक्त लाहौर और कृषि विभाग के अधिकारियों ने बैठक में भाग लिया, जबकि सभी मंडलायुक्तों और उपायुक्तों ने वीडियो लिंक के माध्यम से भाग लिया।

Lahore: The Punjab government has set a target to cultivate wheat over 16.5 million acres in the province and has made it mandatory to plant wheat on government agricultural land.
Punjab’s Chief Secretary, Zahid Akhtar Zaman, chaired an important meeting on Friday at the Civil Secretariat to review the wheat cultivation goals. The meeting was attended by the Agriculture Secretary, Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners of Lahore, and officials from the Agriculture Department, while all divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners participated via video link.
Officials from the Agriculture Department informed the Chief Secretary that a target has been set to grow wheat on 1.49 million acres in the Rawalpindi Division, 1.74 million acres in Sargodha, and 1.88 million acres in Faisalabad. They noted that 1.25 million acres would be planted in the Gujarat Division, 1.15 million acres in Gujranwala, and 1.33 million acres in Lahore. Additionally, targets for wheat cultivation include 0.92 million acres in Sahiwal, 1.82 million acres in Multan, 2.61 million acres in Bahawalpur, and 2.29 million acres in Dera Ghazi Khan.
