Before forming the committee on Saturday, Minister Mustafa noted that private sugarcane farmers collectively possess about 10,000 acres of land in the region. Additionally, various cooperatives own different amounts of land, resulting in a total of more than 30,000 acres available for farming. This strategic collaboration aims to optimize land use for advanced agricultural development.
He mentioned, “Some farmers have indicated they want to return to sugarcane farming, while others are interested in growing corn or exploring new crops like hemp. Therefore, we want to get started as soon as possible.”
