Shillong, December 3: The central government has made it clear that there is no proposal to upgrade the agricultural college in Kirdemkulai to a university.
In response to an unlisted question from Shillong MP Riki A. J. Singkon, the Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Bhagirat Chaudhary, stated that there are already three central agricultural universities, four deemed universities under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, and four central universities with agricultural faculties.
