Press Release – Masterton District Council
The Trust provides grants to young people in Wairarapa who wish to pursue careers in practical agriculture. These grants can be used for practical training and specialized equipment.
This year, the 2025 Peter Lang Agriculture Trust Grant has awarded a total of $9,000 to five successful applicants.
The five successful applicants are: Ged Billing (Masterton), Joseph Jayawardhane (Masterton), Max Lett (Pahiatua), George Mansour (Masterton), and James McNicoll (Pahiatua).
Ged will be based at Smedley Station and the Cadet Training Farm, Joseph is joining the Growing Future Farmers program, Max is with Brownrigg Agriculture, George is receiving training through Primary ITO, and James will be attending the Southern Institute of Technology, Telford.
