The CAQM, which is responsible for planning strategies to curb air pollution in the Delhi-NCR region, reported that between September 15 and October 9, there were 267 incidents of crop burning in Punjab and 187 in Haryana.
To ensure effective implementation of action plans, the CAQM has authorized deputy commissioners and district magistrates in these states to file complaints against negligent officials, including supervisory and station house officers, in front of the relevant judicial magistrate.
