जियोस्पेशियल वर्ल्ड के सीईओ संजय कुमार ने डिजिटल पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र में अंतरिक्ष और भू-स्थानिक प्रौद्योगिकियों के एकीकरण पर जोर दिया। उन्होंने बताया कि पृथ्वी अवलोकन उपग्रह, जीएनएसएस सिस्टम और संचार उपग्रह सामूहिक रूप से शहरी विकास, रक्षा और परिवहन सहित कई क्षेत्रों में नवाचारों को शक्ति प्रदान करते हैं। वैश्विक और भारतीय तकनीकी नेताओं की भूमिका का हवाला देते हुए उन्होंने टिप्पणी की, “स्थान हर चौथी औद्योगिक क्रांति प्रौद्योगिकी के मूल में है।”

ऑर्डनेंस सर्वे, यूके के सीईओ निक बोल्टन और ईएसआरआई इंडिया के एमडी अगेंद्र कुमार ने भारत की आर्थिक योजना में कार्रवाई योग्य अंतर्दृष्टि और भू-स्थानिक प्रौद्योगिकी की बढ़ती प्रमुखता के महत्व पर चर्चा की। भारत के सकल घरेलू उत्पाद में शहरी क्षेत्रों का योगदान 70% है, श्री कुमार ने सतत विकास के लिए शहरी समुदायों को सशक्त बनाने की आवश्यकता पर बल दिया। भारत का भू-स्थानिक क्षेत्र, जिसके 2030 तक 12 अरब डॉलर तक बढ़ने का अनुमान है, लगातार वैश्विक ध्यान आकर्षित कर रहा है।

On Monday, the GeoSmart India 2024 event commenced at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC). Srikanth Lenka, the Chief Strategy Officer of Telangana’s IT and E&C Ministry, emphasized the importance of geospatial data in addressing real-world problems such as urban planning and disaster management.

This leading geospatial technology conference focuses on “Empowering Digital Public Infrastructure through Geospatial Knowledge” and is a four-day event that explores the integration of advanced technologies with geospatial data to transform governance and accelerate digitization. The ethical and impactful use of geospatial data was a major topic. Srikanth Lenka highlighted the state’s commitment to leveraging geospatial technologies for urban planning and disaster management, stating, “Our focus is on collecting and using data ethically to deliver meaningful results.”

Inaugurating the program, Balo Raja, the Minister of Urban Affairs, Land Management, and Civil Aviation of Arunachal Pradesh, outlined his vision for the state. He emphasized the critical role of geospatial technology and highlighted initiatives like the Arun Dwaar communication project, which aims to bridge the digital divide and enable sustainable, inclusive growth. He mentioned, “We are focusing on enhancing air transport to create smart infrastructure, modernize land administration, and develop environmentally conscious urban spaces that are accessible and resource-efficient.”

Sanjay Kumar, CEO of Geospatial World, stressed the integration of space and geospatial technologies in the digital ecosystem. He noted that Earth observation satellites, GNSS systems, and communication satellites collectively power innovations across various sectors, including urban development, defense, and transportation. He pointed out that location is at the core of every fourth industrial revolution technology.

Mr. Kumar confirmed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement that India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) is a global model for development. He said, “The science behind geospatial technology directly translates to advancements in social services, driving efficiency, and real-world applications.”

Pawan Goenka, Chairman of IN-SPACe, highlighted how the synergy between space and geospatial technologies fosters innovation in sectors like logistics, agriculture, and disaster management. He praised India’s national geospatial and space policies for regulating the industry and encouraging private sector participation. Referring to the ambitious Chandrayaan mission, he said, “Last year, with over 250 space startups and $125 million in private investments, India is showcasing its vast innovation potential.”

Nick Bolton, CEO of Ordnance Survey UK, and Agendra Kumar, MD of ESRI India, discussed the significance of actionable insights from geospatial technology in India’s economic planning. Mr. Kumar emphasized the need to empower urban communities for sustainable development, noting that urban areas contribute 70% to India’s GDP. The Indian geospatial sector is attracting global attention, with projections estimating it could grow to $12 billion by 2030.

Boris Skopljak, Vice President of Trimble’s Geospatial Sector, described India as a center of innovation and explained how digital technologies are addressing complex industry challenges.
