27 नवंबर 2024, भोपाल: विश्वविद्यालयों को पशुपालन के क्षेत्र में शोध कार्य को तेज करना चाहिए – पशुपालन और डेयरी मंत्रालय के स्वतंत्र प्रभार के मंत्री लखन पटेल ने कहा है कि विश्वविद्यालयों को पशुपालन के क्षेत्र में शोध कार्य को बढ़ाना चाहिए, ताकि पशुओं की नस्ल में सुधार हो सके और दूध उत्पादन में वृद्धि हो सके। केंद्र और राज्य सरकारें किसानों की आय को दोगुना करने के लिए हर संभव प्रयास कर रही हैं। उन्होंने विश्वविद्यालय के शिक्षकों और कर्मचारियों को सातवें वेतनमान का लाभ देने और छात्राओं की छात्रवृत्ति बढ़ाने की बात की।

The central and state governments are doing everything possible to double the income of farmers in the field of animal husbandry. Minister Shri Patel inspected Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science College in Jabalpur. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor of the University Dr. Mandeep Singh, Registrar Dr. Shrikant Joshi, Finance Controller Mr. Mahesh Kori, Director Field Dr. S.S. Tomar, Director Research Dr. G.P. Lakhani was present.
Minister Shri Patel also inspected the poultry department, Panchgavya production unit, mineral mixture unit and dairy located at the university. He talked about promoting the Kadaknath breed of chicken, so that this breed gets recognition in the international market and the villagers can benefit from it. He also laid emphasis on marketing of Panchagavya. He said that a place should be selected in every district, where products made from Panchgavya are sold and can be easily available to the public.
Minister Shri Patel said that work is also going on on the plan to distribute heifer cows to the farmers. Arrangements are being made to send destitute cows to the cowshed. During the inspection, he expressed happiness over the breed improvement work of indigenous cows using embryo transfer technology in the dairy of the university and laid emphasis on breed improvement with modern technology.
