E. Holland "Holly" Havanitz leads the new Atlanta office for the firm’s four Florida locations alongside senior advisors Marcus Weishart and Christy Vancore.
Robert Tyson, the firm’s strategic managing partner, mentioned that their entry into Georgia is significantly due to the state being designated "Judicial Hellhole" by the American Tort Reform Association because of the "ever-expanding liability" and substantial jury awards attributed to the Georgia Supreme Court.
Havanitz noted that the firm has handled cases in Georgia for years, but the new office’s local presence and physical footprint will better position them to provide quality service and win for their clients.
Friend Hudak & Harris has added agricultural law expert Joel L. Mackey as a partner at Atlanta-based business law firm Hall Booth Smith.
Previously, Mackey led Friend Hudak’s agricultural business and food practice group for 16 years. His practice represents farms and agricultural businesses in various transactions, regulatory issues, and disputes, emphasizing the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act and Packers and Stockyards Act.
In addition to his agricultural work, Mackey has also advised in the solar, energy, and healthcare industries.
