Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić identified key areas for cooperation on November 19. These areas include investment, industry, mining, agriculture, healthcare, innovation, and new technologies, according to a report from Akorda.

Kazakhstan and Serbia plan to initiate joint projects in manufacturing, transportation and logistics, green energy, and the military-industrial sector. Tokayev also emphasized the importance of collaboration in the agricultural sector, especially considering Serbia’s extensive agricultural experience, and both presidents agreed to expand mutually beneficial relationships.

“Kazakhstan is ready to export industrial, food, and other goods to Serbia. Serbia also has significant potential to export products to Kazakhstan. We agreed to make the most of the available opportunities, and this should be facilitated by intensifying the activities of the intergovernmental commission. A decision was also made to resume the work of the business council,” said Tokayev.

Tokayev congratulated Serbia on winning the bid to host Expo 2027 and invited Vučić for an official visit to Kazakhstan next year.

Vučić remarked on the meaningful and productive nature of the discussions held on various topics.

Kazakh President Meets with Serbian Prime Minister

During talks with Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic, Tokayev urged the governments of Kazakhstan and Serbia to join efforts in implementing a bilateral agreement and identify major economic projects to enhance bilateral trade, economic, and investment cooperation.

The President also assured that the Kazakh government is prepared to support the Serbian business community in implementing investment projects in Kazakhstan.

Vucevic confirmed Serbia’s interest in increasing trade and expanding cooperation with Astana in areas such as economic, transportation, logistics, and investments.

Vucevic focused on sectors related to green technologies and energy transition, calling for an exchange of experiences. He proposed regular business forums and suggested holding Kazakhstan Days in Serbia and Serbia Days in Kazakhstan.

Tokayev Visits Exhibition of Serbian Defense Industry Products

Tokayev and Vučić visited an exhibition of military-industrial enterprises at the Batajnica airbase near Belgrade.

Serbia is a major exporter of military products in the region and currently exports to nearly 70 countries worldwide, including Bulgaria, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States.

The exhibition showcased military equipment, Serbian weapon-equipped helicopters, air defense systems, small arms, various artillery ammunition, cartridges, mortar mines, and mortars. Serbia’s extensive expertise in the field is valuable for enhancing Kazakhstan’s military capabilities.
