Oklahoma State University is partnering with the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food & Forestry to host Unwanted Pesticide Disposal Days in the Oklahoma communities of Fairview and Atoka.
What: Unwanted pesticides are those that are no longer useful for various reasons, including those that are leftover, no longer registered in Oklahoma, have no labels, or contain unidentifiable chemicals. Farmers, ranchers, commercial and non-commercial applicators, pesticide dealers, and homeowners can bring up to 2,000 pounds of pesticides to drop-off sites for safe disposal at no charge. If more than 2,000 pounds are brought, a fee will be required. Pesticide dealers are encouraged to register in advance due to the possibility of receiving large quantities from multiple dealers or locations.
