सर्दी का मौसम आने वाला है और उसके बाद गर्मी का मौसम शुरू होगा। गर्मी का नाम सुनते ही तरबूज और खरबूजे का ख्याल आ जाता है। इस सोच को ध्यान में रखते हुए, किसान अब से तरबूज और खरबूजे की खेती की योजना बनाना शुरू कर देते हैं। किसानों को पता है कि जितनी जल्दी वे अपनी फसल काटेंगे, उतना ही अधिक लाभ होगा। इसलिए, किसान तरबूज की खेती ऐसी तकनीकों से करना चाहते हैं जिससे उन्हें अच्छी उपज और ज्यादा आय मिल सके। साथ ही, खेती की लागत भी कम हो सके। इसमें एक तकनीक है “मल्चिंग विधि,” जिससे किसान तरबूज या खरबूजे की बेहतर उपज प्राप्त कर सकते हैं।

अब जानते हैं कि मल्चिंग विधि से तरबूज कैसे उगाया जा सकता है। मल्च को इंग्लिश में “मल्च” कहते हैं, जिसमें किसान अलग-अलग रंग की प्लास्टिक की चादरें लगाते हैं। खेतों से निकली घास भी मल्च के रूप में इस्तेमाल की जा सकती है। अगर किसान तरबूज लगाना चाहते हैं, तो उन्हें काले, सफेद, नीले, पारदर्शी आदि रंग के मल्च का उपयोग करना चाहिए। फसल के बचे हुए अवशेषों का भी मल्च के रूप में उपयोग किया जा सकता है।

तरबूज लगाने के लिए पौधों के बीच की दूरी 1 मीटर और पंक्तियों के बीच की दूरी 1.5 मीटर रखी जानी चाहिए। किसान तरबूज को सीधे बीज बोने या पौधों को ट्रांसप्लांट कर के उगा सकते हैं। सीधे बीज बोने के लिए, सबसे पहले खेत को अच्छी तरह से तैयार करना होगा और उसके बाद 1.5-1.5 मीटर की दूरी पर बाग तैयार करना होगा। ICAR की पत्रिका “फल-फूल” के अनुसार, बीजों को 1-1 मीटर की दूरी पर बोना चाहिए। इसके बाद, मल्च को फैलाना चाहिए। ट्रांसप्लांटेशन विधि में, पहले तरबूज की नर्सरी तैयार की जाती है और 30 दिन बाद पौधों को लगाया जाता है।

मल्चिंग के फायदे

कीड़े और पतंगे भी दूर रहते हैं

मल्चिंग विधि से तरबूज उगाने से जंगली घास पर नियंत्रण करना आसान हो जाता है, क्योंकि मल्चिंग के बाद जंगली घास नहीं उगती या मिट्टी के सौरकरण से उगने पर नष्ट हो जाती है। इसके अलावा, मुख्य रूप से हरा तेल, चंपा, सफेद मच्छर, और तरबूज में कई रोग जैसे पाउडरी फफूंदी, डाउनी फफूंदी, कलियों का मरना और उखाथा रोग होते हैं। इन्हें रोकने के लिए, संक्रमित पौधों को निकालना चाहिए और खेत के अंदर पीले और नीले फेरोमोन ट्रैप का उपयोग करना चाहिए। रात में उड़ने वाले कीड़ों के लिए प्रकाश ट्रैप का उपयोग करना चाहिए और नीम का 4 प्रतिशत अर्क लगाना चाहिए। इससे तरबूज पर कीड़ों का हमला कम होगा और उपज बढ़ेगी।

For planting watermelon, the distance from row to row is kept at 1.5 meter and distance from plant to plant is 1 meter. We can plant watermelon by sowing method and also by transplanting method. For direct sowing, first of all the field should be prepared properly and after that, planting beds should be made with the help of ridge maker at a distance of 1.5-1.5 meters. According to the information given in ICAR’s magazine Phal-Phool, seeds should be sown at a distance of 1-1 meter by placing drip lanes on the furrows and mulch should be spread at the end. In the transplantation method, a watermelon nursery is prepared and the plants are transplanted after 30 days.

Not only this, mainly green oil, champga, white fly, beetle and among the diseases in watermelon are powdery mildew, downy mildew, bud necrosis and Ukhatha disease. To prevent these, diseased plants should be thrown out and yellow and blue colored pheromone traps should be used inside the field. For night flying insects, light trap should be used and Neem extract 4 percent should be used. This will prevent or reduce the attack of pests on watermelon and will increase the yield.
