Farmers and mill owners had alleged that there was a delay in the procurement of paddy in the state by the Food Corporation of India (FCI). After this, the Central Government, promising uninterrupted procurement of paddy and Custom Milled Rice (CMR), has dedicated a portal to resolve the complaints of rice mill owners the very next day. This portal was launched on Monday by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs. Minister Pralhad Joshi launched the mobile application FCI Grievance Redressal System (FCI GRS).

Meanwhile, on the slow procurement, Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu said on Sunday that about 50 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased and till October 24, 95 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) of grain has been lifted from the grain storage warehouses of Punjab, due to which This will help in purchasing new paddy and storing it. The Union Minister gave this information after a meeting with officials of the Food Corporation of India.
