Dr. Joao “Joe” Vendramini will be joining the Texas A&M AgriLife Research as the new director, starting May 1 at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Stephenville.
“Dr. G. Cliff Lamb, the director of AgriLife Research, stated that Vendramini’s extensive background will be essential in advancing our center’s strategic priorities in Stephenville and beyond. He will lead initiatives that promote health, strengthen communities, protect natural resources, and support economies,” said Lamb.
Vendramini is moving from his current position as a professor and forage specialist at the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences Range Cattle Research and Education Center.
Previously, he worked as an assistant professor and forage specialist at the Overton Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center and was a faculty member at Texas A&M’s Department of Soil and Crop Sciences from 2005 to 2006, just before his role in Florida.
“I am excited to join the team in Stephenville,” Vendramini said. “I look forward to adding significant value to the center’s research portfolio and increasing stakeholder engagement, which closely aligns with my professional background.”
