मिल मालिकों ने प्रशासन पर आरोप लगाया

Mill owners blame the administration
The mill owners have also accused the state government of using police force and threatening to reopen old cases against them if they do not lift the paddy. Even the video of police being called to force mill owners to collect paddy in Faridkot district is going viral on social media.
Mill owners in Mamdot and Makhu alleged that the administration forced them to purchase paddy with high moisture content. Firozpur rice mill owner Ranjit Singh Josan said that low quality paddy is being imposed on the mill owners by the commission agents and farmers, in which the police administration has a big role. The moisture in those paddies is 20 to 22 percent. If we take such paddy, the rice produced from it will not be good. Then we will have to buy rice from the open market and give it to FCI.
Mill owners are being forced
Punjab Rice Millers Association President Tarsem Saini said that a deep conspiracy is going on against us. Last year, all the samples of fortified rice kernels were already rejected. This year, the Center has not sanctioned rice prepared for the previous procurement season till last month because their warehouses were full. Since the milling of this paddy continued till the end of summer, the moisture in the paddy kept getting lost. We were forced to give them 67 per cent of rice for every quintal of paddy, causing huge losses.
Saini said that now we are being forced to replace rice found spoiled in other states, which was ground paddy two years ago. Once the rice was sent from Punjab, after quality check, its entire responsibility rested with the receiving state or the agency transporting the grain. We request the Punjab government to send a team of its officials along with FCI officials to the states where rice has been found below the quality limit. This will reveal the truth.
