Small land holding farmers do farming
Madanapalle region produces 190-240 metric tonnes of tomatoes per day, which is sourced locally and from areas like B Kothakota, Tambalapalle and Punganur of Andhra Pradesh and Rayalapadu and Srinivaspuram of Karnataka.
These tomatoes are exported to Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Telangana, Odisha and West Bengal, due to which its national demand is increasing. Here, compared to big farmers, farmers with small land holdings usually do farming in one to five acres. Farmers of Madanpally are increasing the quality of their produce with the help of advanced agricultural techniques and are achieving success.
