Agrochemical company Crystal Crop Protection on Monday said it has acquired Bengaluru-based I&B Seeds to strengthen its position in India’s vegetable and flower seed sector. Crystal Crop Managing Director Ankur Aggarwal told PTI that the deal has been completed with shares bought from the two major shareholders. He said that the transfer of stake was completed on Diwali last week. However, the company has not disclosed the amount of the deal.
According to the agency, Managing Director Ankur Aggarwal said that this acquisition will contribute 30 percent to our seed business of Rs 400 crore. Through this acquisition, Crystal Crop is in rapid expansion mode. Earlier, Crystal Crop has purchased Sadanand cotton seed portfolio from Kohinoor Seeds in 2023 and cotton, pearl millet, mustard and sorghum portfolio in 2021 from Bayer. The company has acquired several agrochemical and seed brands from Syngenta, FMC and Dow Corteva, among other global companies, between 2018 and 2022.
