विश्वविद्यालय के जनसंपर्क अधिकारी सूchet अत्रि ने कहा कि विश्वविद्यालय साल में दो बार पौधों की बिक्री आयोजित करता है। इन पौधों की गुणवत्ता उत्कृष्ट होती है और इन्हें किसानों को बहुत कम कीमत पर उपलब्ध कराया जाता है। उन्होंने बताया कि हिमाचल के अलावा, उत्तराखंड, जम्मू और कश्मीर सहित कई राज्यों के किसान भी पौधे लेते हैं और पहले दिन में ही 30 प्रतिशत पौधे बिक जाते हैं। किसानों के अलावा, डॉ. एपीजे अब्दुल कलाम तकनीकी विश्वविद्यालय और DRDO जैसी कई अन्य संस्थानों को भी पौधे प्रदान किए जाते हैं। निजी नर्सरियाँ भी पौधे खरीदती हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि पिछले साल 2 लाख से अधिक पौधे बेचे गए थे।

He said that apart from Himachal, farmers from many states including Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir take the saplings and 30 percent of the saplings are sold on the very first day. Apart from farmers, saplings are also provided to many universities and companies including DRDO. Private nurseries also purchase plants. He told that last year more than 2 lakh saplings were sold.
Plants worth Rs 100 to Rs 300
Suchet Atri said that the price of B grade and A grade apple plants is fixed at Rs 100 to Rs 200 per plant. Walnut will be available for Rs 250 to 300.
