Mahindra and Mahindra Limited’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES), part of the Mahindra Group, has announced its tractor sales figures for September 2024. Domestic sales for September 2024 were 43,201 units, up from 42,034 units in September 2023.
In total, tractor sales (domestic + export) for September 2024 were 44,256 units, compared to 43,210 units during the same period last year. Exports accounted for 1,055 units this month.
Commenting on the performance, Hemant Sikka, President of Mahindra and Mahindra Limited’s Agricultural Equipment Sector, stated, “We sold 43,201 tractors in the domestic market in September, marking a 3% increase compared to last year. The monsoon rainfall increased by 7.5% from the Long Period Average (LPA), supporting growth in Kharif crop sowing, except for cotton. Water reservoir levels have improved and are now 13% above the LPA, which bodes well for a healthy Rabi harvest. Given the positive expectations around Kharif crops and the upcoming Rabi season, rural sentiment is favorable. With positive market conditions for farmers and the approaching festivals, we anticipate strong demand for tractors moving forward. In the export market, we sold 1,055 tractors.”
