This year’s survey covered key groundnut-producing districts in the Saurashtra region. According to Mehta, the significant rise in production is attributed to favorable monsoon conditions, which led to an increase in yield from 2,045 kg per hectare last year to 2,210 kg per hectare this year, along with an additional 275,000 hectares of cultivated land. Overall, groundnuts were sown over 1.909 million hectares in Gujarat, up from 1.635 million hectares in 2023.
