एमडी सुरेश चित्तुरी ने किसानों से कहा कि अंडे का उत्पादन पूरी तरह से मुर्गी की खुशी पर निर्भर करता है। जितना खुश आप मुर्गी को रखेंगे, उतने ही अधिक अंडे वह देगी। सबसे पहले, मुर्गी को हमेशा स्वस्थ रखना जरूरी है। मतलब, मुर्गी को किसी भी छोटी या बड़ी बीमारी से दूर रखना चाहिए। इसके लिए चिकन की अच्छी देखभाल करना और जैव सुरक्षा का पालन करना बहुत जरूरी है। दूसरी महत्वपूर्ण बात है मुर्गियों को अच्छी गुणवत्ता का भोजन देना। ऐसा न हो कि हम चार पैसे बचाने के लिए खराब भोजन खरीद लें। आज पोल्ट्री क्षेत्र में इतनी तकनीक आ चुकी है कि आप भोजन की विभिन्न जांच करवा सकते हैं। पीने के पानी का भी विशेष ध्यान रखें। कई बीमारियाँ केवल पानी से ही होती हैं।

सुरेश चित्तुरी ने बताया कि अगर हम लेयर चिड़ियों की नस्लों की बात करें, तो अब बहुत अच्छी नस्लें उभर रही हैं। ‘हाईलैंड’ ऐसी ही एक नस्ल है। हम पिछले 5 वर्षों से इस नस्ल पर काम कर रहे हैं। इस नस्ल की वजह से अंडे की लागत में प्रति अंडा 10 ग्राम की कमी आई है। केवल इतना ही नहीं, कुल अंडों के उत्पादन में भी 25 अंडों की बढ़ोतरी हुई है।
