किइलोम्बेरो, मोरोगोरो: किलोमबेरो गन्ना किसान दिवस प्रदर्शनी चीनी उद्योग के हितधारकों के साथ शुरू हो गई है, जो इस वर्ष की थीम, “प्रौद्योगिकी और नवाचार के माध्यम से गन्ना किसानों को सशक्त बनाना: उत्पादकता और चीनी पर्याप्तता बढ़ाने का मार्ग” पर चर्चा कर रहे हैं। इस थीम का उद्देश्य हितधारकों को शिक्षित करना और अत्याधुनिक तकनीक का प्रदर्शन करना है।

प्रदर्शनी में कृषि उपकरण, गुणवत्तापूर्ण बीज, उचित उर्वरक उपयोग और गन्ने की फसलों में रोग और कीट नियंत्रण के विभिन्न तरीकों की एक विस्तृत श्रृंखला शामिल होगी।

संवाद सत्र के दौरान, किलोम्बेरो गन्ना किसान दिवस प्रदर्शनी के अध्यक्ष श्री विक्टर बायमेलवा, जो कि किलोम्बेरो शुगर में संचार और हितधारक संबंध प्रबंधक के रूप में भी काम करते हैं, ने इस वर्ष की प्रदर्शनी की शुरुआत में विषय पर विचार करने के महत्व पर जोर दिया।

उद्योग विशेषज्ञ कम पैदावार, उच्च उत्पादन लागत और बाज़ार में प्रतिस्पर्धात्मकता जैसी प्रमुख चुनौतियों पर काबू पाने पर ध्यान केंद्रित करते हुए पैनल चर्चा और तकनीकी कार्यशालाओं का नेतृत्व करेंगे।

तीन दिवसीय कार्यक्रम, तंजानिया के शुगर बोर्ड और किलोमबेरो शुगर कंपनी, राष्ट्रीय सामाजिक सुरक्षा कोष (एनएसएसएफ), सीआरडीबी बैंक, तंजानिया कृषि अनुसंधान संस्थान (टीएआरआई), अफ्रीकी वन्यजीव फाउंडेशन, संरक्षण के लिए अंतर्राष्ट्रीय संघ जैसे प्रमुख भागीदारों द्वारा समर्थित है। ऑफ नेचर (आईयूसीएन), यूनिट्रांस, कानू इक्विपमेंट, जॉन डीयर और किलोमबेरो को-ऑपरेटिव्स ज्वाइंट एंटरप्राइज लिमिटेड, चीनी क्षेत्र में उत्पादन, दक्षता और आत्मनिर्भरता को बढ़ावा देने के लिए डिज़ाइन की गई आधुनिक तकनीकों के माध्यम से किसानों को सशक्त बनाने पर ध्यान केंद्रित करेंगे।

Kilombero, Morogoro: The Kilombero Sugar Cane Farmers Day exhibition has begun, bringing together stakeholders from the sugar industry to discuss this year’s theme: “Empowering cane farmers through technology and innovation: A path to improving productivity and sugar sufficiency.” The aim of this theme is to educate stakeholders and showcase cutting-edge technology.

The exhibition will feature a wide range of items, including agricultural equipment, quality seeds, proper fertilizer use, and various methods for controlling diseases and pests in sugar cane crops.

During a discussion session, Mr. Victor Baymelwa, the president of the Kilombero Cane Farmers Day exhibition and a communications and stakeholder relations manager at Kilombero Sugar, emphasized the importance of reflecting on the theme at the start of this year’s event.

The committee aims to ensure that the exhibition is well-organized and informative for farmers around the Kilombero Valley.

This year’s event has been extended to three days for the first time, with hopes of attracting thousands of cane farmers and stakeholders.

The exhibition will showcase innovations such as precision farming tools, sustainable irrigation systems, and advanced machinery aimed at increasing production while reducing environmental impact and operational costs.

Interactive sessions during the exhibition will offer farmers practical insights into how these tools can modernize their agricultural practices.

Industry experts will lead panel discussions and technical workshops focused on overcoming significant challenges like low yields, high production costs, and competitiveness in the market.

Bakari Eli Makangama, president of the Kilombero Joint Enterprises Cooperatives Society representing 17 Agricultural Marketing Cooperatives (AMCOS), stressed during the discussion, “This dialogue is a vital opportunity for our farmers to discuss all matters related to modern agricultural techniques.”

With the support of partners, we are empowering farmers with knowledge and technology to improve their yields, work more efficiently, and achieve self-sufficiency.

Kilombero Member of Parliament and guest speaker at the event, Abubakari Asenga, expressed appreciation for the organizers’ efforts in valuing farmers and providing this platform. He assured stakeholders in the sugar value chain that the government would continue to protect and promote the industry.

The three-day event is supported by key partners such as the Tanzania Sugar Board, Kilombero Sugar Company, National Social Security Fund (NSSF), CRDB Bank, Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute (TARI), African Wildlife Foundation, International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Unitrans, Kanu Equipment, John Deere, and Kilombero Cooperatives Joint Enterprise Limited, focusing on empowering farmers through modern techniques designed to boost production, efficiency, and self-sufficiency in the sugar sector.

The exhibition is open to all sugar cane farmers and related stakeholders, and participation is free.

Attendees will benefit from various activities, including technical demonstrations, financial advice, and networking opportunities with key stakeholders in the sugar industry.
