Deputy Prime Minister and Trade Minister Manoa Kamikamica has emphasized that medicinal cannabis will only be available for export and will not be accessible to local people.
In response to a question from opposition MP Fayaz Koya about whether the medicinal cannabis legislation would clarify that the product is solely for export and not available in pharmacies, Kamikamica indicated that, based on advice from the Health Ministry, the focus will solely be on export.
He mentioned that it may be premature to consider the import of medicinal cannabis for local use in Fiji at this time.
