Farmers staged a protest in Haridwar regarding Mahapanchayat, smart meter and payment of sugarcane dues. | (हरिद्वार में किसानों ने महापंचायत, स्मार्ट मीटर, एवं गन्ने के भुगतान को लेकर प्रदर्शन किया।)

किसान, जिन्होंने रुड़की में संयुक्त मजिस्ट्रेट कार्यालय के सामने उत्तराखंड किसान मोर्चा के बANNER तले 36 दिनों से प्रदर्शन किया है, बुधवार को हरिद्वार कलेक्टरेट पहुंचे और एक महापंचायत आयोजित की। किसानों का कहना है कि 36 दिनों में उनके मुद्दों पर कोई ध्यान नहीं दिया गया। उन्होंने रुड़की में सरकार को खोजा, परंतु 36 दिनों में उन्हें वहां सरकार नहीं मिली, इसलिए वे हरिद्वार कलेक्टरेट पहुंचे हैं। किसानों ने कहा कि अगर यहाँ भी सरकार नहीं मिली, तो वे देहरादून जाएँगे। अगर वहाँ भी सरकार नहीं मिली, तो वे दिल्ली जाएंगे। जब तक उनकी मांगें पूरी नहीं होती, न तो वे चैन से बैठेंगे और न ही सरकार को चैन से बैठने देंगे। किसानों की मांग है कि ग्रामीण इलाकों में स्मार्ट मीटर न लगाए जाएं और इकबालपुर चीनी मिल पर किसानों की 110 करोड़ रुपये की बकाया राशि चुकाई जाए।

गुलशन रोडे, उत्तराखंड किसान मोर्चा के अध्यक्ष, का कहना है कि किसान मोर्चा ने लगभग 36 दिनों से रुड़की के संयुक्त मजिस्ट्रेट कार्यालय में किसानों की समस्याओं को लेकर अनिश्चितकालीन धरना दिया हुआ है। किसानों की मांग है कि हरिद्वार के ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में स्मार्ट मीटर न लगाए जाएं क्योंकि यह क्षेत्र किसान प्रधान और गन्ना उत्पादन प्रधान है। गन्ने की फसल साल में एक बार होती है, ऐसे में किसान हर महीने स्मार्ट मीटर का रिचार्ज नहीं कर पाएंगे। गुलशन रोडे ने कहा, हम सरकार से मांग कर रहे हैं कि जिस तरह किसान फरवरी-मार्च में अपने बिल जमा करते थे, वैसा ही प्रावधान बनाए रखा जाए।

किसानों की मांगें क्या हैं?

किसानों की दूसरी मांग यह है कि इकबालपुर चीनी मिल पर 110 करोड़ रुपये का बकाया है, जो लगभग 6 साल से लंबित है और सरकार-प्रशासन इस पर ध्यान नहीं दे रहा है। रोडे ने आरोप लगाया कि सरकार ने चीनी मिल के मालिकों के साथ मिलकर किसानों से 110 करोड़ रुपये रोक रखे हैं। जब तक यह राशि किसानों को नहीं मिलती, वे प्रदर्शन जारी रखेंगे। उनकी तीसरी मांग है कि बदेड़ी पर राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग बन रहा है, इसके लिए बदेड़ी के सामने एक अंडरपास प्रदान किया जाना चाहिए। बदेड़ी के बजाय रामदेव आश्रम के पास अंडरपास बनाने की बात हो रही है, जो कि 2 किलोमीटर दूर है। ऐसे में ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में गन्ना लाने वालों को 3-4 किलोमीटर तक यात्रा करनी पड़ेगी। किसान इन सभी मुद्दों पर प्रदर्शन कर रहे हैं।

किसान नेता ने कहा कि जब हमें रुड़की में नहीं सुना गया, तो हम बड़ी संख्या में कलेक्टरेट पहुंचे। जब तक किसानों की समस्याएं हल नहीं होतीं, आंदोलन इसी तरह जारी रहेगा। हमने रुड़की में 36 दिनों तक सरकार की खोज की। अब हम हरिद्वार में सरकार की खोज में हैं। अगर यहाँ भी सरकार नहीं मिली, तो हम देहरादून जाएंगे, और अगर वहाँ भी सरकार नहीं मिली, तो दिल्ली जाएंगे, लेकिन हम सरकार को खोजते रहेंगे। न तो हम शांति से बैठेंगे और न ही सरकार को शांति से बैठने देंगे। हम जिस अधिकारी से मिलेंगे, उससे बात करेंगे और उसके आधार पर किसान समिति अगला कदम तय करेगी। आगे की कार्रवाई का निर्णय किसान महापंचायत में लिया जाएगा।(रिपोर्ट: मुडित अग्रवाल)

Farmers are demanding not to install smart meters in rural areas and payment of Rs 110 crore dues of farmers on Iqbalpur sugar mill.

Gulshan Rode, President of Uttarakhand Kisan Morcha, says that Kisan Morcha has been staging an indefinite strike at the Joint Magistrate Office, Roorkee for about 36 days regarding the problems of the farmers. The demand of the farmers is that smart meters should not be installed in the rural areas of Haridwar because Haridwar is a farmer dominated area and being a farmer dominated area, it is a sugarcane dominated area. The sugarcane harvest comes after a year. In such a situation, the farmer will not be able to recharge the smart meter every month or 30 days. Gulshan Road said, we are demanding from the government that the way farmers used to deposit their bills in February-March, they should continue to deposit their bills in February-March.

What are the demands of the farmers?

The second demand is that farmers are facing outstanding dues of Rs 110 crore on Iqbalpur Sugar Mill. The dues have been pending for almost 6 years and the government-administration is sleeping. Rode alleged that the government has withheld Rs 110 crore from the farmers by meeting the sugar mill owners. The farmers will continue to protest until this money is received. Our third demand is that the National Highway is coming up on Badedi, hence an underpass should be provided in front of Badedi. Instead of providing an underpass near Baddi, there is talk of providing an underpass near Ramdev’s ashram, which is 2 kilometers away. In such a situation, a person who puts sugarcane in a rural area through a cart, buggy or tractor trolley will have to travel three to four kilometers. Farmers are protesting on all these issues.

The farmer leader said that when we were not heard in Roorkee, farmers reached the Collectorate in large numbers. Until the problems of the farmers are resolved, the protest will continue like this. I sat in Roorkee for 36 days searching for the government. Have reached Haridwar to find the government. If we don’t find the government here too, we will go to Dehradun in search. If we don’t find Dehradun, we will go to Delhi, but we will keep searching for the government. Neither will we sit peacefully nor will we let the government sit peacefully. We will talk to whichever officer comes to us and on that the farmers committee will take its decision as to what to do next.
