किसानों को आलू के बीज मिले

Sanjay Aggarwal said that a meeting was recently held by the Agriculture Minister with potato producing farmers, in which information was given about the efforts of the department to promote commercial varieties of potatoes. He said that a target has been set to produce potatoes of Kufri Chipsona variety in 30 hectares in Gaya district, for which seeds have been made available to the farmers selected by the department. Currently, sowing of Kufri Chipsona has started in 15 hectares in Manpur, Gaya Town, Gurua and Tankuppa blocks. Similarly, sowing is being done by farmers in Bihar Sharif, Chandi, Nagarnausa and Rahui blocks of Nalanda district.

Demand for seeds has been made from the center
Sanjay Aggarwal said that the foundation seed is being produced by the Agriculture Department from the breeder seeds of potato variety Kufri Pukhraj in a total area of 7 hectares in the Rajgir Government Seed Multiplication Field of Nalanda district under the public sector. Also, for the financial year 2025-26, the department has demanded 1470 quintals of potato breeder seeds from the Centre, for which consent has been received. The demand for breeder seeds has been uploaded on the portal of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi for the availability of seeds for potato seed production in the coming year 2025-26.
