Berkeley, California., October 8, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Once Upon a Farm is excited to announce a major partnership with the Equitable Food Initiative (EFI). Through this unique partnership, Once Upon a Farm is committed to sourcing produce from EFI-certified suppliers and paying a premium for it. ‘Healthy’ nutrition starts with food but also includes physical and mental well-being. EFI trains and engages workers to improve their work conditions and promote safe and fair food production.
Once Upon a Farm aims to source 7,000,000 pounds of organic produce from EFI-certified suppliers, representing about 30% of their core portfolio in 2024. The premium will serve as bonuses for non-salaried agricultural workers, rewarding them for their essential roles and the extra training and diligence brought to the fields through the EFI program.
